Child and Family Therapist

Finished your degree but still looking for additional training? Looking for a position that will prepare you for a career as an evidence-based child and family therapist? Then this position is for you.

 

The Maryland Parent Child Clinic, LLC is excited to announce that we are seeking one provisionally licensed therapist (LMSW, LGPC, psychology associate, etc.) to join our practice. The Maryland Parent Child Clinic is currently located in Timonium, MD in Baltimore County and this position is available as fully in-person or hybrid (in person and virtual). We are a growing practice primarily serving children/adolescents/young adults up to age 25 with a wide variety of behavioral and emotional concerns including but not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, oppositionality, sleep issues, and toileting concerns. This position is great for someone who loves learning and is seeking advanced training in evidence-based treatments for children/ adolescents. We welcome applicants who are licensed or will be licensed by Summer 2024.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Attend trainings and supervisions related to evidence-based treatments including but not limited to Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and behavioral parent training.

  • Complete diagnostic assessments and treatment plans. 

  • Provide individual cognitive behavioral therapy and behavioral parent training to individuals and/or their caregivers. 

  • Consult with schools and other providers outside of the Maryland Parent Child Clinic as needed.

  • Participate in weekly individual and group supervision including supervision needed to work toward independent licensure.

  • Maintain records and bill insurance using our all-in-one and easy to use electronic medical record system. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy or an equivalent degree that qualifies for licensure

  • Provisional license to practice in the state of Maryland (LGPC, LMSW, psych associate, etc.)

  • Experience or interest in working with children/ adolescents

  • Experience with psychotherapy

  • Interest in learning more about cognitive behavioral therapy and/or behavioral parent training!

  • Ability to work at least one night until 7 pm preferred

Part-Time Practicum (filled for 2024-2025)

The Maryland Parent Child Clinic, LLC is excited to announce that we are seeking a part time practicum student to join our practice for a minimum of 16 hours per week. The Maryland Parent Child Clinic is located in Timonium, MD in Baltimore County but the position can include some flexibility to work remotely. We are a growing practice primarily serving children/adolescents/young adults with a wide variety of behavioral and emotional concerns including but not limited to anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, oppositionality, sleep issues, and toileting concerns.  This position offers extensive supervision and training.

 

Benefits:​

  • Learning about diagnostic assessments and treatment planning. 

  • Extensive training in child therapies including manualized treatments like Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

  • Ability to observe cases and take co-therapy cases with practice owner and other licensed clinicians. 

  • Ability to work toward PCIT-certification if desired.

  • Individual and Group Supervision provided.

  • Work collaboratively as part of a small team of like-minded clinicians.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a masters’ or doctoral program in clinical, counseling, or school psychology. Psychology associate preferred if in a doctoral program. Of note, a stipend is available for those with a psychology associate license only. 

  • Experience working with children/ adolescents (does not have to be in a clinical capacity). 

  • Desire to learn about therapies for children/ adolescents.
